Blocking throttle for pressure washing

Post by Splinter »

Since Im going to be working on the block inside my bedroom, I need to have it pretty much immaculate.

Im going to be taking it out of the car, then washing it with degreaser and a pressure washer.

What'd be the best way to stop water getting inside the block, a hoseclamp and some tough plastic over the throttle?

Piece of tarp maybe or a lot of duct tape would probably work. Duct tape is pretty durable. Or you could put a couple different layers over it to be safe. When you take the heads off you'll probably have some oil residue left over.

Crack the heads off that................Wait. I just have to say thats one of the funniest things Ive heard in a while. Thats some dedication man. Kudos.

But honestlly, if your gonna crack the heads off it, either do it outside somewhere, or pull up the carpet in your room before you start. Oil and coolant will puke out of that thing no matter how much you think its drained.

If your worried obout getting water in it whilst pressure washing, seal everything off with some Duct tape. :-D

Old motors are so dirty. I would never attempt this, kitchen maybe, bedroom never.

yeah, i have to agree. no matter how much you wash the outside, it's always going to be dirty on the inside.
