Front Swaybar Mount Bushing Options?

My front bar is desperately in need of new mount bushings, the old ones are just destroyed. I had my car in the ditch and bent the control arm, I'm amazed that the bar itself didn't break, but no worries.

I've already got the whiteline front endlinks and I was wondering what I could do for new bushings.

I've done some searching and there seems to be some debate if the bar is 18 or 19 mm. Does that make that much of a difference? I was looking online at some bushings, and cross referenced some impreza bushings with the legacy, and then others had different part numbers and listed a bar size of 19mm.

I was also looking at some energy suspension universal PU bushings and they came in both 18 and 19mm sizes.

Will the stiffer PU make a difference if I used them, or should I not care and just get whatever Napa has?

Subaru group-N bushings?? Improved performance but not the trouble that is polyurethane - i.e. squeeks and rattles... Check them out at www.subarugenuineparts.com.

I've done a bit of research on what' out there I'm about to replace all my suspension bushings with them.

Of the poly stuff Whitline is the best for our cars IMHO, superpro is a good second, Norco's another name that comes to mind...

So I didn't find too much stuff for the front bushings. I had thought about some generic 18mm poly bushings from energy suspension, but I didn't want to fab up a mount to hold them in. I just bought factory replacement bushings from the dealership for $9 a piece. I did notice a tighter feel when I replaced them too.

I bought 2 sets of universal energy suspension PU bushings. They came with brackets to hold them in.

I have to switch one of them out, though, since it seems both bars are 18 mm, and I ordered 1 18mm and 1 greasable 19mm.....

Okay. we must have 19mm rear bars. I put the 18mm bushings in there with a little modification, but they were tight and didn't close all the way when clamped down.

Oh, well.... Any stiffer bushings are better than none.
