There's a guy on the SVX board who has put STi 6MT's in SVXi...but he doesn't bother with the DCCD.

It's easy when you fully swap, because the STi DCCD controller is tied into the STi's ECU.

you can get a controller from the boys at neetronics, its the same place that tuned my car.
i heard crazy stuff about how good the controller for the dccd they make check them out

Phil (BAC5.2) straightened me out on what I need to intalll my 6MT. You can use your original axels and hubs if you get 5MT stub axels, the proper circlips, and oil seals. You can either order the stubs at about $35 apiece, or open up a 5MT to get them. A 6MT is the same length as a 4EAT, so a driveshaft from an auto will work. A matching clutch and flywheel is in order. Obviosly, the linkage is different, so that that is needed. You can run it without a DCCD controller, as it defaults to a 35/65 split. I'm just gonna make a basic controller for now, just so I can put it on a dyno, and eventually get a nice aftermarket unit. Other than a 3.90 rear diff, I think that about sums it up. Oh, and installing with the engine out is supposedly WAY easier. At least according to LIC Motorsports who does lots of swaps. With the motor out, there's no need for adjustment with a BFH to get it to go in.

You MUST have a ghetto fab controller if you want to dyno a 6-speed without a true DCCD controller, so do what Dan is doing above.
The 35/65 split jacks up dyno's.

It's not worth it to wire in the OEM dccd. Auto-mode won't work without lots of work (and it definately won't work if you don't have ABS).

Unless the 6mt is larger or harder to install than the 5mt, I'd say that it is just personal preference to how you install it (enigne out/engine in). I've pulled a tranny and installed it a few times with the engine in and it wasn't hard at all. The trickiest part is lining it up, but working it carefully and having a jack under the front of the engine to angle it helps a ton.
I think I've actually had a harder time at times installing the engine and getting it lined up to the tranny. Each has its own problems and simplicities.
