Ebay exhaust that won't fit

Post by Hustler M »

Hey guys just a heads up. I bought the XO2 racing WRX turboback exhaust off ebay. I originally was going to buy a WRX downpipe, a 3" inlet muffler and get custom bent piping from the downpipe back. After reading a few threads here I was under the assumption that a WRX catback would fit on a legacy with a little modification. so i found a good deal on a WRX turboback exhaust and bought it. Well i dropped it off at the muffler shop and then got a call from the owner saying that it would not fit, not even close! So i used the downpipe and had to get a 3" univ. muffler and get the rest of the piping bent up. The Xo2 exhaust is a good deal beacause it comes with the downpipe and uppipe. So just a warning if you see this exhaust on Ebay it will not work for your legacy. Now i have this WRX catback that i have to sell. If anybody has a WRX and wants a cheap catback PM me. It will be going in the for sale section soon.

The axleback section is 3" too short on the WRX, we have a longer wheel base.

How much did the shop charge you for the piping? I have a turbo XS downpipe and a cheapo muffler from an Impreza and I need the center section fabbed up same as you did

WRX/Sti axleback is a direct fit on our older legacies, must modify with 3" extension where it bolts to oem midpipe, move middle hanger, and change the left rear hanger.

but the WRX/Sti midpipe is not a direct fit, it wont really work on our older legacies, so when they told you it wont work, what they should have said is the axleback will work, but not the hole midpipe etc. The WRX/Sti midpipe wont clear our driveshaft, flooriing, because of the location of its CAT vs where the OEM cat on the midpipe is.

Get one of these and it should be plenty to get your exhaust to clear whatever.
