Post by VRoman »

Does Intake Manifold from a 1999 2.5L Impreza RS fit on a 1994 Legacy EJ22?

Thanks... Is there anything I can do to make it fit, besides replacing the cylinder heads?

BXSS told me that you can use that intake as long as you use the heads as well. I'd check with him as he has a deeper knowledge of this swap than I do. He's a really knowledgeable and nice guy.

How about a intake manifold from a '97 ej22 onto a '93 ej22t. if so would it even do any good. I just have a bad engine sitting around and wondering if I can use any of the parts off it.
Just because my car looks a little beat up doesn't mean its fast.

I would also like to know if this would work. I have the heads (and the rest of the engine) from a 1999 2.5rs. I was wondering what would be the benefits if any of swapping the intake manifold along with the heads into an ej22t

Better flowing heads=more air in motor=generally more power

does the intake manifold from a 1999 2.5rs flow better than the stock ej22t ones? I just want to know what I can/should take from my RS engine to put on the ej22t

The cylinder heads flow better. I dont think the intake would account for much. Swap over the heads and intake. I does require some work though.

Click the link 'Out flowing the EJ22T and LS1 heads.'

On the second page, he has (courtesy of Cobb) flowbench data of stock EJ22T heads and stock EJ25 SOHC heads (and Chevy LS1 heads....).

This is seriously the most knowledgable/informative Subaru related forum I have ever seen...and I would venture to say, on the internet...
