Tranny wont go into gears

Ok so I was driving home yesterday after a trip to the beach and all of the sudden my tranny wouldn’t let me shift into any of my gears. It did let it go into 4th with alot of resistance and then I could shift down threw all the gears to get to 1st. Its acting like the clutch is not disengaging. As if I’m taking it out of gear but the clutch is not releasing. I checked the tranny fluid and it was WAY over filled. I don’t know if that would cause this I don’t think it should, if anything I would just see it causing a leak some where but not making me tranny stop working. So if anyone has any ideas on what i can do to fix this cause I’m stumped. But I looked at the shifter linkage everything looked fine. I have really loose bushing but I don’t see that causing this problem. So any help is greatfully appreciated.

hmm. Suddenly not going into gear? Might be a broken clutch fork. I take it that the car goes into all gears when the engine is off?

No sadly enough it wont go into gears when the engine is off. Its weird cause it randomly goes into gears and other times its like a brick wall. But it never goes into gears smoothly anymore.

Then likely a broken shift fork.
