difference between power mode and manual mode on an auto.?

difference between power mode and manual mode on an auto.?

As the topic say's...When do you folks use either of these modes?

I'm sure it can be found elsewhere on the board, but:

Power mode just alters the shift map slightly during heavy acceleration.

The manual button prevents the tranny from going downshifting into first, but only when the selector is in 2 or 3.

When i use them.. power mode all the time since driving fast is fun :) sometimes when it is rainy or snowy i'll pop on the manual button just to keep a bit of traction from a stop.

Josh's page is exactly right except

"3 position the transmission chooses between 2nd and 3rd gear."

It should say

3 position stays in 2nd gear until XMPH when it will stay in third from then on until speed again drops below XMPH regardless of throttle position

XMPH needs to be accuratly verified.
