EJ20GTiming Belt Part Number

Post by BoostAddict »

Hey,

I'm chaning the timing belt on my EJ20G and I'd like to know the Subaru Part # that I should use. Based on snowjob's post:
http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic. ... iming+belt

...I see that the EJ20G uses the same timing belt as a 1998 2.5 RS. I just called the dealer and they told me that there are two part numbers and two different timing belts for a 1998 2.5 RS.

They are:
belt #1) 10107 (211YU30)
belt #2) 13109 (223XY26)

...I'm just wondering which one of those belts I need for my EJ20G.

If anyone has this info, it would be greatly appreciated, 'cause it would save me a trip to the dealer with my old belt to match it up to one of the new ones.

Thanks,
PC

That dealer is wrong. I checked part numbers on all cars with an EJ25D (the 98 RS has the EJ25D, same as the 96-98 Outback, 96-98 Legacy GT's, and 98 Forester), and they're all the same: 13028AA072. List is $79.95.

^ Yes, that is the same part number as the timing belt that came with my 20G heads.
