Sylvania 42" Plasma ED Monitor (6842PE)
its not full HD but it does 480P which is the maximun dvd's can do for the moment until blue ray is more popular. it will also play hd but at a diluted picture. Awesome tv for the bedroom and I got an open box one for $850!!! it was new in the box but had been delivered and the customer found out it didn't have an hd tuner and returned it. Also picked up a progressive scan dvd player for 66 bucks! and saw an american haunting last night on it.

Right on Mike! That's a pretty nice plasma monitor, especially for the money. As long as you replace the remote with a Harmony or something similar. Is it just me or does the Sylvania remote look a hospital bed controller!
A nice thing about the SYL-6842PE, that you may or may not know, is that it will actually accept signals up to 1080i and just down converts them to 480p. So you can still run HD on it and it will look much better then SDTV.

My brother picked up an ESA 42" ED Plasma from CC about a year ago. Quite a step up from the 27" Zenith CRT, and it was less than $1500 with the full 3-year warranty.
its pretty funny that I have only kept my infiniti so I have a car for first dates and airport parking... Cant wait to do the 60" crt projection for the living room in a few months. that will be my xmas bonus check well spent that one will be 1080p and hopefully the sony if I can afford it.

If you're going to get a Sony 1080p projection then it's going to be an SXRD ( LCoS), not a CRT. CRT projectors are on the outs and I can't think of any that are 1080p.....
The SXRD is tits though..... I like the Samsung 87W series DLP 1080p's a bit better though, a little better buy IMO and they have better contrast.
ohhhh, total typo, CRT? lol what the hell was I thinking lol I meant to say lcd projection. at any rate, I think I was confused about what the sony had, I saw the KDSR60XBR2 and that was the nicest tv I saw there. I was originally interested in a dlp but they seemed more pixelated than the lcds. I'll do more research when I'm ready to buy, probably around xmas.
tv-shmeeeveee lets hear more about those two wagons! And this "lady friend"
I have plenty of pics is various threads of my wagons, I am however still working on getting some pics of the new girl...

If you have the money for the KDSR60XBR2 it is the best TV of the bunch for sure. It's a grand more then the HLS6187W though. The HLS6187W I think is a better buy then the KDS60A2000 but the XBR2 is definitely better then either with the Advanced Iris System.
