Is there a WRX or STi hood scoop which is a direct replacement for our 92-94 turbo hood scoop? If there is a direct replacement, meaning it fits correctly with no alterations, what years work best?
Going to TMIC my car, and would like to get more air flow with a larger scoop. Also, gonna ditch the chimney, as I have a WRX turbo heat shield to go inplace of the chimney.
thanks.

thanks, yeah i have searched many threads.....for hours......
It would appear that maybe slicing the OEM 92-94 scoop on the horizontal, fabbing up some custom risers to extend the height, then fiberglass blending the OEM might be my best option, as that way it would mount just like it is currently. Basically, just cut it in the middle, make it taller, put back together, spray, and mount......I DO NOT want to hack into the hood, and I want it to fit like the oem one, just be more functional for airflow to the TMIC. I do not want to blend the scoop to the hood, as that will crack in a day or 2 due to the flex of the hood and vibrations. I want to mount it like it is from the factory...

Use Kitty Hair if you want to mold it, if it's done properly it will never crack. And, if done properly it will take a while and be reinforced all over the place like a MF.
Why not hack the hood? If you want a non-ricey lookin scoop just go with a 02-04 WRX or 04 up FXT scoop, for the slightly ricey yet mega airflow version, go with a 05 WRX or 04-05 STI scoop. hack your hood to where the scoop sits on top but the lower portion is still recessed and use some good mirror clamps from Home Depot.
You could always mold it in later either before OR after paint, especially if you keep the extra paint.
Honestly, I know a lot of body persons and I dont think any of them would do what you're talking about to a stock SS scoop. I can't imagine it looking normal to any degree. If you DO do it, please, show us what it looks like.
Come to think of it, Home Depot should pay me for all the stuff from there that I've used on my car.
Or you could always cut a large portion out of a 2.5 rs hood (scoop + 1 or 2 inches of scoop surround)and have it welded into the SS hood and then it would look factory as can be, again, if it's done right.
