Dash lights diming upon acceleration, vents accel.? Huh?

Why is this car like this, like when i accel the vents get louder and more air hits me, and if i watch my dash lights, they get a tad bit brighter? why! what do ineed to fix this, and i got a stock harmonic pulley brand new and new alternator.

Cool, thanks. But i dont feel safe with this mod idea, like if i get into a accident? well it catch on fire?, i dont like the idea of having the positve wire going directly to the battery but i guess that would make the huge improvement, and the grounding is all straight forward, so ground the engine block? and ground the neg from the battery to the side? or the firewall correct?? But do i need to use a fuse, well acually i should not even ask that question, because i should lol, but im not 100 percent about where i wire the fuses, and what amp fuse i need, thanks for your help!

Well, I'm going to have to assume you either didn't read the whole thread I linked to or have a slight reading comprehension problem.

Your battery to frame wire is said to have the biggest impact. Linking your engine ground and engine/tranny ground is also a very good idea for all of your sensors.

The alternator to battery connection is to help charge your battery more efficiently. And as the thread brings out, you should tie it into the fusible links box or put your own fuse in the middle if you go straight to the battery terminal.

Do all the grounds first, and clean up and/or add to your other existing grounds. Save the alternator wire for last if it makes you uncomfortable.

Ok, thanks, ya im not crazy about modding the electrical thats why i asked. I guess ill try grounding the neg of the battery to the firewall? or is the side enough? And group the engine block.

Proabably the best bet for you batter ground is somewhere right next to the battery. Basically in easy terms...the shorter and the larger diameter (smaller gage) the grounding wire the better. Also a grounding point should be "meaty". Like in a truck or old car you would have grounded to the frame rail (or as close as you could get).

I ran my battery ground right next to the battery (4 gage - and the wire was about 12-14" long). Bolted it right down on the unibody.

...but of course...I was also running four yellow tops in that car. :twisted:
