Gear indicator is lit!?

That pic is from a Canadian spec car - are ours lit as well? If so, then I'm going to have to take apart the interior....again.

Are you talking about the red line on the side? If so, mine does not light up, but I've never had it apart to see why.

manarius u dont believe me? lol, like all u got to do to see is pull off the plastic peice, and u see a clear glass behind it, and behind that is a light bulb socket, and the bulb. I remember when i was younger, my dad would always be hitting the shifter because the lights wouldn't always work there, and the car was only like 3-4 years old at the time, and then after it turned 8 just stopped working, then at the age of 12 1/2 the HVAC lights on the heat side went out, then at the age of 13 they all went out. then the high km side of the dash worked sometimes, and the rest stayed lit, last month or 2 ago i got all the hvac shifter, and the dash lights changed, now i have to do the radio, and its 100 percent lit.

I didn't know that was lit. I thought that was the point of the gauge cluster gear indicator.

The gauge cluster indicator is there so you don't have to look down at the lever indicator.

In my '91 it's lit, but the plastic piece with all the letter on it is all scratched up and ugly looking......

Well, sure enough, in my car it's lit. I tore apart the shifter stuff today and the bulb was toast. Funny thing, my dad had the exact bulb I needed hanging on his workbench. So, I plugged it in and woah baby, it glows. It's kind of things that I just kind of figured that the car didn't have lit, but it does. I think I've nailed down all the "should be lit but aren't" parts. I know a few are beyond me (like a few of the radio buttons), but all in all my car glows like a Christmas tree now.
