Need new Oil Pan, rotted and leaking

I need a new EJ22T oil pan, are both EJ22 and EJ22T oil pans the same. Whats a good price, and whats a good place to buy one. I need one asap. Its for my 94 Touring Wagon.

Hey Dan,

Here's my reply to your email.....just so someone else can reference it later if need be.

No, the oil pans are the same between the turbo & non-turbos. If you buy from one of the online dealers it's going to be around $50. Here's the part # 11109AA052. It should be readily available.

I'd recommend www.subarugenuineparts.com

I had some issue with the newer designed pan. I had to bend one of the baffles, but it wasn't a big deal once I figured out which one it was. Here's some pics:

As for replacing it....You have to jack up the motor a little to get at the rear bolts on the pan. You need to remove the nuts on the motor mounts between the mounts & crossmember. Put a block of wood under the oil pan, and gently jack the engine up. Once it's up a little bit, you can put a piece of 2x4 between the crossmember & engine to keep it up so you can get the oil pan off. It's not a fun job, but sounds like you need to do it.

I just resealed mine a month ago. I chose to jack it up from the furthest front of the tranny before the crossmember to have the jack out of the way. Just remove the pinch stop and 2 nuts on the motor mounts and lift her up an inch or so. Here are pics of mine if it helps

how hard was it to get to the rear bolts on the oil pan?

Same question, i never looked in that area, but my oil pan bolts are rusted out, like i was going to check the bolts because my oil pan was leaking, so i backout the screws to make sure they arent rusted, and it broke before i even backed out the bolt(guess i should get a screw remover eh?) as off right now 1 bolt is cracked off, the leaks aren't hurendous but there there, i mean when i go for a oil change im like 9/10 full, but i should look into fixing it.

I was able to remove all but a few with a Phillips screwdriver. The ones i had trouble with i just used a deepwell socket as i had enough clearance above the crossmember. PB blast them a few times before starting and it should help. The rears are a mild pain at best, you should be able to get the motor up plenty high to get at them.
Prolly a good idea to get the broken bolt out before putting the new pan on.
Oh and dont over torque them i believe the spec is something tiny like 4 ft/lbs so its very easy to strip the threads.
