A few more questions on swap

Post by bvh56 »

Im swapping out an AWD auto trans for a AWD m/t in my 1990 legacy. 1. Will the rear driveshaft from the auto work? 2. Is there a seperate bracket for the rear of the shifter and where does it bolt up to? 3. And how can i tell the ratio of the front differantial? is there a tag on the trans ? The parts im using are from a 1991 legacy non turbo. As always thanks in advance.

The 90 & 91 AT & MT non turbo legacies have the same final drive ratio, 4.111.

1) Yes
2) Yes there is a rear bushing that holds the shifter to the chassis of the car. You can see what the assembled shifter setup looks like here (those are the kartboy bushings, not stock)

3) No tag on the front diff/trans

The shifter that came on the trans has what looks like a rod at the end , not like in the pictures.
