drivers side head also has the cracks, but they are in "early stage".

Is it time to start panic?

EJ22, portmached heads, lighter flywheel,... no other modifications on engine... 280.000 km (~174.000 miles)

No panic necessary, but it is time to start looking for a set of replacement heads. They can be fixed, but it's not worthit.

now Ive never seen those cracks in an ej but there are plenty of cars that commonly have cracks in the combustion chamber and its common practice to run them as is. ea82's, 5cyl audis, etc
