Borked Auto trans/ 5mt Swap Details

Post by Psychoreo »

Well, she finally exploded... well not completely exploded but dead none the less.

Went to go start it after I changed out my bad injector and heard this hideous grinding noise and watched the starter draw go through the roof. Then looked underneath and there's a puddle of trans fluid and some splash from where the TC was spinning.

The thing had issues before, no reverse at first, then you could feel it really holding the car back on the highway and you couldn't spin it above 4k in direct drive...I was just hoping it would last untill jan. when I had the $$ for the 5mt swap. Oh well, credit cards exist for a reason!!

Trans is on the way out, It'll be completely out tomorrow. Most parts are ordered. And I should be able to get the ones not on order either tomorrow or wednesday.

Once again it was Blackbart to the rescue, with a great price and tons of parts. Could be done this week!!

P.S. Anyone have a 5mt pedal box lying around?

Of, and if you go to take off that "F" pipe thing for the PCV, be real careful, they're brittle... trust

go to the junk yard there $15.

on the down pipe theres a mount that bolts to the auto tranny. cut it off if you dont have the right bracket for it to bolt to the manuel tranny. other wise you get an anoying rattling sound off your down pipe from it riding next to the tranny. sucks!

just some info for ya if you didnt know.

I'll check the junkyards, but most of them round here just put leggies in the grinder :(

Oh, and on the bracket, good looking out, but I already took care of that. I HATE exhaust rattle, nevermind that damn thing. Thanks!
