Is a fully stock 92 Legacy Sedan Turbo set up for divorced or bellmouth? I belong to noob-city; what is the difference/how do you recognize it?

It really doesn't matter how the turbine section is ported. The CES exhausts have a diverter plate. You can run the divorced setup just fine.
And yes this is the same exhaust I had problems with. I believe catalytic converter section is about 1/8" too short, which causes the exhaust to be under strain. I have since put a spacer in the exhaust and haven't had any issues, however I have not driven the car in a full-on down pour.
A stock turbo legacy can run this exhaust just fine.
There are several people on this board that run this exhaust. Check out the exhaust forum for more info.

Hooplah! I am now the owner of a beautiful CES exhaust. I hope it goes on smooth (possible spacer needed for cat delete?) but I am so excited to let the rumbly boxer breathe

Agreed. I just hope that Dynamic Entry didn't spend all his money on his exhaust and that he has something put away for a bigger turbo.
Edit: By the way, I'm speaking from experience on this....which is the only reason I mention it. He mentioned he just bought the car, and I'm just imagining him having X amount of dollars to spend to make his car fast, and then dumping it all on the exhaust. When I started modding my first car at the age of 16 (a Camaro) I fell into the same trap. I wanted the best of everything for the car, and planned to put in on piece by piece. Unfortunately, on an insanely limited budget, this meant I had saved up for the world's best cat-back, which added maybe 15hp, but with the money I spent on it, I could have bought a half decent set of headers and full exhaust for the same price and added 45hp.

Agreed.....speed/horsepower costs money, and on a limited budget it can be a tough call on what route to go.

Dunno much about welding but isn't that exhaust a freaking work of art? Might be worth it...

That is their "race" setup. It doesn't have a cat, and the tip is not SS.
I believe since they don't have a US distributor any more, they don't offer the race setup....just the normal setup. You can still get it without a cat though.
The muffler is a good muffler....the sound is excellent.

It is fun to see that my purchase sparked a conversation.
A thousand dolllars is a lot of money, (after shipping and currency exhange it was over 1K CAD). But if I paid the same amount anywhere else I doubt I could get the same result. Adam West you are right, its beautiful.
The way I look at things is this: if you are going to build power, the exhaust is the foundation on which you build. Without exhaust intake mods are useless. Without exhaust you will never maximize the potential of any turbo, no matter how big it is.
Basically, without free flowing exhaust your whole power train will always be in a strangle hold. That is why I wanted to do it first.
It's true, because of this purchase I will not be swappin a turbo or intercooling for quite some time
, but... I am confident that the performance difference will be noticeable, the sound will be satisfying and whatever my next mod is (intake, turbo upgrade, even boost control) the gains will be that much better because of this exhaust. Or at least I hope so.
My car fund may be tapped for now..... but what an investment!

Last year I was running a SAAB TMIC and a Joe-P MBC set at about 12psi. I swapped on a 3" TBE this year and the only difference I noticed was that my turbo spools earlier...too early. The turbo on this car is rediculously small, the last thing it needs is help spooling. I'm boosting when cruising on the highway, and as you'd expect, gas mileage suffers, so not only will this exhaust prevent you from doing other mods because of the initial cost, it'll continue to slowly take little bites out of the checkbook with the added fuel costs, and won't give you much to show for it. The exhaust ISN'T the part on our cars that, in stock form, puts a "strangle hold" on performance. Without exhaust mods, intake mods are far from useless. An SS with only an MBC and TMIC will blow the doors off an otherwise stock SS with ANY exhaust any day of the week.
Honestly, for $500, you could have gotten a used Stainless Steel WRX exhaust with a Bellmouth Downpipe modified to fit the car, and I doubt you'd notice any real measurable difference in performance now, or in the years to come. Better yet, with the extra $500 burning a hole in your pocket, you would have been able to throw on a WRX TMIC, Joe P MBC, FCD, do some suspension mods, and have a car that's faster, more enjoyable to drive, and able to back up that exhaust note (to some degree). If you want your car to perform, this is the route to go on a limited budget, IMHO.
Again, I'm just trying to make a point. I'm not trying to crap on your purchase decision. It looks like a very intricate and beautiful piece and, even for the grand you spent, I doubt you could find anything like it anywhere - but the same could be said about the Mona Lisa, and you don't see me using it as window tint.

well I ended up paying closer to 2k for my ces exhaust due to the exchange rate and shipping costs to get it to RI. not knowing them as well as Josh does aparently didn't help on the price either
If I had seen this I would have outbid the highest bidder so I could have the same on my second wagon.

By the way, I'm going to Sydney, Australia tomorrow for the week, if anyone wants me to pick up anything while I'm there.
Has to be able to fit in my luggage though.

Ya, I took a trip this weekend and even with stock verything I found that on the highway I was boosting too easy! IN that respect I am not looking forward to massive 3" exhaust with the little, not especially laggy, turbo.
But in no way do I regret my decision. $500 for a used exhaust doesn't appeal to me in the face of $900 for what I got coming. Also, I am not worried about the extra fuel I might burn breaking the bank. I will be able to move on to my next mod within a month or so. Which begs my next question.......
I plan to upgrade my turbo and add an intercooler but not at the same time.
Does it make more sense to upgrade turbo first and then intercool the system or intercool it first and then put in the bigger turbo? My instinct is turbo first but I have no idea if it matters. Cost wise I guess intercooler would be easier first...
