Where to find aftermarket rear endlinks for '91 SS
Ok, so I am ordering my 20-24mm adjustable RSB for my car and I already delt with the weak sway bar mounts, but not I need to find a way to make the stock endlinks stronger, or maybe going to some aftermarket units.
Has anyone experimented on the 1991 legacy endlink design? Right now I have some stiffer bushings in there, but I'd really like something better, and stronger that doesn't require welding...

I used the whiteline ones:

They broke in a few hundred miles. You should make your own with a heim joint and some bolts. Cheap, easy, better than poly, and probably more reliable.

ahhh I see, if you said rod end bearing or spherical bearings I would have known, didnt know they were also called Heim joints.
I still dont know how to attatch it to the lateral link though. Should I just try to find some Energy Bushings or some other stiff urethane bushings?

Okay
What I would do is get two rod ends, and a small shaft, connect the rod ends to each side of the shaft, then connect one end to a bracket that will bolt through the hole in the lateral link. Like this:

Except both sides have rod ends. Envision the left part as having a rod end and connecting to the sway bar, and the right side going through the lateral link.

I see, I was thingking about that but I never thought of just bolting it to the lateral link, I kept thinking "weld it weld it!" That should work, I can get all the stuff from my brother's work, I'll take some pictures when I have built the to endlinks and installed them.

I've tried welding in several different areas of suspension... It makes a nice brittle point for something to break...
Best Luck with yours.

jamal speaks the truth. Whiteline supplies them with rear bars spec'd for BC/BF Legacies so they only have to make one type of bar even though Subaru changed over to the C shaped endlink design in '92 or '93.jamal wrote:That's because they're installed wrong.
I installed the whitelines when I installed the adjustable rear sway bar. They have been working very well for over 15,000 miles, plenty of agressive driving including some autocrossing. I think they are just fine, and if you are buying a whiteline bar, you'll get them for free. Can't beat that.

Hmm....I looked at some pics of my old ones, and it doesn't appear that I installed the washer on the outside....
However looking at the pics of the part when I was selling them....there's a washer there....
Wonder if I fixed it later.....oh well.
