Real hp#s with ej22 n/a turboed, 2.5 heads, etc...

Post by gto7419 »

Well, Im looking for some realistic power numbers (whp) for an ej22 n/a block with phase I 2.5 DOHC heads, 2.5 manifold, 2.5 injectors, and ej22t pistons.

I should have an rrfpr already on its way, and this is just a guess here, but Im pretty sure Im going to need to run some sort of em?

I have a 93 n/a with 200k miles. The po turboed the car with a t3. The car actually runs well for what it is, but I want more boost. The current motor does burn oil though, and it will detonate if pushed even moderately hard.

Ive done more searching than I care to share. My eyes feel like theyre going to bleed, and I still dont really have too many answers.

I also cant find any info on what EXACT cars a phase I with the DOHC heads. - Would a 98 legacy gt still be phase I, or do I need earlier heads? (ie, would the cam sensors be the same?) Basically, I need the heads to be a simple bolt on other than drilling and tapping oil/coolant for the turbo.

Would I be ok running the lower compression heads and pistons at the same time, or will the compression be too low? Will the car run like crap off boost?

Appreciate any info :-)
