That body kit makes it look like an old Evo. I'd still buy it.

Anyone know what bits are aftermarket beyond what Tommy Kaira would put on?

Gimmie!

As I see it....I could learn to deal with the RHD, I could even get used to the mismatched interior BUT I would have a real hard time doing the math required to convert from KPH to MPH and I know the cops wouldnt accept dyslexia/adhd as a reason for my excessive speed!

Is it even legal to drive a RHD vehicle on the freeway? I know all about the many mail-service vehicles that are out there, but never have I seen a RHD vehicle on the freeway.

Its legal, just stay on the right side! As a side bar, I had a friend who's whole family was nuts about retired post office jeeps and would buy them at auction. She had to drive one of those little boxes to work everyday. Her nickname was lunch box.

Was she a... healthy... girl?

That thing seems odd. It seems awful JDM... except for the brakes (didn't ALL STi's have 4-pots and 2-pots?) and the US tail lights and head lights.

I'd buy it, sell the body kit (trade for 97 RS stock stuff), get JDM tail lights, fix the interior, and do a monster motor build.

The early JDM WRXs had amber turn signals in their taillights.

The info on the plate all seems to match up. However, I don't see a VIN anywhere in the whole auction.

Amber tails suck.

Japanese car's don't have US Vin numbers. The 16 digit vin number is for the US market. It's a relatively new occurance though. Lots of old old cars don't have 16 digit vin numbers either.

It would, technically, be illegal to title the vehicle in the USA. You'd either have to swap vin plates (VERY VERY ILLEGAL!) or create a VIN through the DOT, which is expensive and time consuming. I met a guy who imported a JDM Galant VR4 (TT V6, it was badass) and when he registered it, they just asked if it was the same as a US VR4. He said yes, and got a title. Not sure the specifics though.

Well, I didnt go with her to her last physical 8)JK No she wasnt of the plump persuasion. She was however quite tall so that gave it a "clown car" effect. The "lunch box" referred to the little 2 seater she drove. I think it was even smaller than a geo tracker!

You mean 17-digit :). Every domestic market has their own VIN setup. Japan's is different than ours, Europe's is different than ours, Australia's is different than ours...

Cars before 1980 had 10-digit VINs. My 79 has a 10-digit VIN.
