Methods of expansion have changed. Just because they aren't claiming land to be theirs, it doesnt mean they arent still attempting to gain control of it.

The war in Iraq is a prime example of that.

America has defended liberty in a number of countries and continents, and as far as territorial ambition is concerned has never asked much more than a place to bury her fallen soldiers.

The best way to get what you want is not to ask for it, but to make the person feel obligated to give it to you.

When Saddam's execution is no longer on the front pages, perhaps liberals will turn their focus to capital punishment for such crimes as adultery(well only for women), stealing, heresy and blasphemy.

I prefer to stay as cynical as possible. What the point in griping over something you have no control over.

I can guarantee not one person on this message board really knows politics and all that other crap like you might think you do. There are way to many lies, to much corruption, censorship and what have you that keep the truth unseen.

I'd rather just ignore it and uphold the values I think are right.

Apathy is always a good choice...

Speak for yourself on your knowledge of politics. I keep pretty well informed all of the time.

It's not the same thing at all. That's like saying that oral sex isn't sex or that we define what the meaning of 'is' is.
