I seem to recall bringing this up a month or so ago and Phil saying he'd been trying to get in touch with Vikash but had been unsuccesful. He was thinking, IIRC, was that Vikash was still overseas? Once Phil gets back I'm sure he'll chime in.

But I've missed Vikash's presence too :(.

Vikash, Matt, Steve, Laurel and others have all moved on it seems. Maybe they thought that the tone of the board had changed or maybe they just bought new cars...or both. I see Matt fairly often, he's still a Suby owner. I guess they've just contributed a lot and thought they'd give it a break and let others contribute some. All of them were/are pretty sharp with cars. They probably just got tired of it. There was a thred a while ago that talked about how long hobbies last and I think the consensus was around three years.

I'm selling my car, two turbo long blocks, and everything else Legacy in the parts shed. I need the garage space and I need to move on.

BAC5.2 and I are drifting a bit too, although we still get on from time to time.

Emailed Vikash and haven't heard back. Hobbies don't last forever, people grow and get excited about new things. All those people probably still have good things to say about their BC's... maybe even love 'em... but that's not the same thing as being so excited and obsessed with it that they are willing to invest their life in the punishing pursuit of trying to keep a 15 year old car in good shape.

I don't really post like I used to either.

Back when I joined, some 300 odd years ago, I didn't know a fiftieth of what I know about cars now, so I had a lot more questions then. Also, I have a lot more resources other than just this board for answers to questions I still have.

Also, I have to jump on the "growing-tired-of-the-attitude" bandwagon. This community isn't nearly as friendly as it used to be. I perhaps am guilty myself of having a little bit of an elitist attitude, but I've tried to correct that and actually try to help people, even the n00bs, without being a douchebag and sucking myself off about how knowledgeable I am. Not everyone here does that, but some do, and it gets tiresome.

And, I don't have hardly any time either :(

Bah, for how long LCO has been around, you guys are still some of the most helpful, friendly people I know. There have been some issues, but let's face it, this place is not Nasioc by any stretch.

As I've stated before - I like the friendliness of most members and the huge amount of knowledge that is to be found here. This place is better than a book a million times because you can't ask a book a question. Thanks to all of the veterans and I hope everyone sticks around even when other interests/cars come along.

This has been a good site for me as I was improving the twgn. Now with the mods listed below it includes AP Racing brakes, and DMS 40s coil overs.

For my daily driver, this is now a quick car by way of acceleration, cornering and stopping, but looks like nothing at all, and I can still use it on the back roads. :-D

The program has been that once the twgn was "built" I would look around for an early 60s Alfa Romeo Spider as the next project. However I'd had enough of "building" a car and decided to find one in top condition, and it had to be in Graphite Grey.

It took nine months to find one on eBay and I took delivery in late December. One rear brake was worn down to the rivets and the others had only 15% wear left, and two front cylinders needed rebuilding.

This has been done, and it's worth noting that the Alfa brakes were the most powerful drum brakes ever built. Huge aluminium cooling fins with three leading shoes on the front are the equivalent of 6- pot calipers. The suspension was originally designed with coilovers and telescopic shocks, and was rebuilt recently.

However, it seems that I can't stay away from modding. The 1600 engine puts out only 80 hp and I've located a built 2 liter and have ordered the parts to install it in the somewhat smaller engine bay --it can be done.

Weighing only 2050 lbs and with about 150 hp and a 5mt the 44-year old car will move along rather well. :-D

Researching and locating the parts has had me hanging around the www.Alfabb.com
