boost gage is acting funny. i just installed it two days ago.
i have a cuple of vacume leaks and i think it might be helping my problem. my bpv, the tree base for the crank case vent is broken. and my 90 degree elbo has a crack in it.
but what my boost gage is doing is flaping really fast when in boost.
even around 0 psi it dose it. it says that im not in boost at 0 psi but i know i am, i can feel the turbo and hear the bpv go off. im only makeing 5-6 psi, its having a really hard time keeping boost in betwen shifts too.
help!

First fix all of your leaks. Then check. Epoxy works well for a lot of the bigger stuff. They sell two part 5 min epoxy at most auto stores.
Its not uncommon for a boost gage to be junk out of the box or after a few uses.
The only other thing I would say to check would be the waste gate operation...but I don't think it would make sense that the BPV would make noise if the gate was bad. Maybe check to see that he BPV is working properly as well. I have one sitting in my garage that you can blow through both ways...and sometimes it sticks open...sometimes it stays shut.
Where are you measuring boost from?

im hooked up to the line that gos to the charcle canister off the intake mani.
its a equies gage.
i also noticed something elts, theres a quick flaping sound coming from my tubo. and it matches that of my boost gage.
think i might have a damaged blades?

I would check he BPV first before saying the turbo is shot. Its located near the turbo...so the sound could be coming from there.
You can take the BPV off and try blowing through it both directions to do a quick cheap check (takes about 3-5 minutes). Might not point out all of the problems but it might help.
Its not uncommon for the BPV to go bad. I had three before I found a good one. I bought a good one from the vendor Blackbart for a couple bucks.

i havent checked my bpv, but i did witch my car to wast gate presser and it still says its only running 5 pounds.
question: when you switch your car over to wast gate presser, is it always spost to run 8 psi?
my gage might be off.

Would resetting the ecu be any help? Also, I'm a fan of using fiberglass mesh and epoxy on well scored plastic to fix cracks and holes. I rarely have anything re-crack after that.
i fixed the little hose that connects the F shaped plastic peace to the block and she runs a little better.
i have not put a ground wire in my ecu to change it to manuel. so it still thinks its an automatic. this might also cause a problem.

ok today. i wanted to test to see if my turbo was shot. so i toke the hose off my wast gate and drove around.
i only needed to give her a qurter throttle to get the boost up. i only pushed it to 10psi and figured it was still working good.
mind you i dont have an intercooler so i would not go past 10psi to be safe.
and man was it loud!
