head gasket removal and replacement

Post by isotopeman »

The search function keeps returning a phpbb critical error of some sort, so here's my question.
Does the engine need to be removed from the car to replace a head gasket?

nope. you can do both head gaskets with the engine in the car. if you're going to though, i recomend un bolting both engine mounts and the dogbone tranny mount. GIves you a bit more wiggle room.
stupid electrical work...

Yup.

Easiest way to do it is take out the airbox, washer tank and battery, undo the engine mounts and dogbone, put a jack under the engine and lift it about 4 inches

We had some issues with some log files filling up the drive. Try your search again, and let me know if you're still having problems.

Thanks

It's working fine, but I didn't even see the posts though for awhile and had asked the same question again.

Did you have to reduce the log entries that are maintained or edit the php scripts to resolve the problem?
