You might check my post in the electrical section. Someone posted a quick fix that I haven't tried yet, but it may be something you might want to check before getting a new motor..
1993 Legacy Wagon, 2wd, and she still purrs.

yeah, check some things. i thought my motor was bad.

Take off the wiper arm, spray WD-40 on the exposed, turn switch on, spray lots more wd40, put back on wiper arm.
