Body work
I posted here out of fear of being bumped for not talking about a Subaru. I have a BMW with some damage to the front spoiler of the body kit. Is it worth my time to try and repair it myself with kitty hair and paint? I have never done anything like that before....

Whats wrong with you were all about Subarus here. Not BMW's! Especially ones with BODY KITS!

I dunno it depends on if you think you could do it. But a shop would probably do better work.
Oh and i do like BMW's

if you have the tools and some knowhow. I wouldnt risk using anything but good primer or UV cured primer when your ready for paint though. Kitty hair isnt very hard to work with either. Just take your time and dont over harden it.

Bumpers are almost always made of polyurethane or something similar. If you repair it with fiberglass, the repair will be too rigid and next time you knock something with it it'll probably cause even more damage.
You can get special bumper body filler... no idea what its called tho.

Its an aftermarket AC Schnitzer and doesn't seem to be fiberglass. Probably a poly like Splinter said. I guess I will see what a shop will charge me. I am going to sell it and feel like repair will make it be easier to sell and also a nice thing to do.

If its a poly bumper, I would recommend a product called, Plastic Surgery from Dominon Sure Seal. It is available for different types of plastic, rigid,semi-rigid, and flexable.
You can buy it here in town at Calgary Body Shop supplies int he N.E. I have used it on oem bumpers before, and it worked great.
