Starters for 1990

Post by nicebloke »

Car-parts.com lists two different starters for a 1990 Legacy stick-shift, one for up to Feb '90, one for Mar '90 onwards. Part numbers are 23300AA200 for the older, 23300AA220 for the newer.

Question is, I'm not sure exactly which one (or whether both) will fit mine, because I don't know its manufacture date...

There will be a build date on the placard in the driver's door jam. find the manufacture date, and we can help.

It's Feb 1990, the date they switched over. There's so many more of the 3/90 onwards starters available. Question is, are they interchangeable? I suspect they are...

Yeah, your car is supposed to have the older one. The part #'s don't supercede, however I don't see why it wouldn't work.
