I was cleaning out my basement the other day and I came across this book called Saturday Mechanic. I started looking through it and came across this picture which I thought was pretty cool.

There's another picture a legacy wagon (early 90s?) in the most recent flyer I've recieved from Sierra Trading Post. It's modeling a tent-like-thing that attaches to the roof rack. I'd scan it, but it's at home.

Smart place to put the alternator, for protection from water and easy replacement compared to, say a early '90s GM with the 3.4 DOHC V6 like a Lumina or Cutlass, where one wheel, tie rod, drive axle has to be removed, subframe unbolted & supported with a jack...and that's the "easy method" to replace to alternator.

I heard of one of the buick models having the starter INSIDE the tranny

My friend has an old Pontiac Grand Prix (early 90's ish). To change the spark plugs at the back of the engine, the service manual says to disconnect one of the engine mounts and lift the whole thing up. It's insane.
