wagon rear seats

Post by 93Leg-c »

I couldn't find it in my search so I wanted to know:

On '93-'94 wagons:

1--do all the rear seat backs have a 40/60 split?
2--do the backs just fold down on top of the lower seats or do the lower seats have to be lifted up and foward first and then the seat backs fold down behind the raised lower seats?

Thanks!

On my 93 I have a 40/60 split and the bottoms need to be folded forward before the seatbacks fold down.

Hope that helps....

Yes, it does help. Thanks!

I've got another question now, though. With the bottom seat folded up and forward and the seatback folded foward and down, what it the measurement from the underneath side of the seat bottom to the inside of the tailgate? I need to know the measurement to within 1/4 to 1/2 inch. I need to know if it will carry my work items (I'm looking for a touring wagon but if the cargo area length isn't long enough then I'll have to figure how to make it work.)

Can anyone measure this for me, please? Thanks!

66.5" at floor level but as the rear hatch angles forward it is about 64" at the bottom of the rear window. :-D

Rats! I just measured my ladder and I need 67-1/4" clearance! :(

OK, here's another question. If the seatback is just folded forward (without lifting the seat bottom) how far down does it go? Would it be just like the sedans where the top of the seatback would rest on the seat bottom (with a little weight on it)?

It probably goes down a little more than the sedan's because the wagon's is less contoured.

I've carried much longer items inside my wagon; over the front passenger seat. I'm not sure what the dimensions are from the tailgate all the way to the front windshield, but that space is usable if you really have to. The headrest comes out to make it easier. Would a ladder fit sideways over the flipped-up rear seat bottom and next to the front passenger seat against the doors without getting stuck?
Another option is a roof-rack by Thule, Yakima or the likes. You can buy a used rack pretty cheap, but you'll need to change the rack's feet to a set for Subarus.

I have used my wagon for all my construction supplies while working on my condo. I even got a 42" plasma in the thing. a list of some other things are:

water heater
2X4X8 studs

I opted to rent the home depot truck for the two large palltes of hardwoods though lol

oh I had to sucker a friend for the drywall and for the jacuzzi tub also.

I'm pretty sure the garage doors were on the roof rack of the silver wagon.

The lowes is right down the street from my house so its a pretty short drive. I love having a station wagon.
