NOOB

Post by Gregmckenna »

So I just turned 16 full lisence in 3 weeks and i bought my Legacy about a week ago, Im in love with it and ive had subarus in my faimly for my whole life so I know of there beautiful rumble. Im curious if there is anything I can buy for example like a performance turbo back exhaust for a WRX if it would fit or somthing of that kind, Ive had mufflers an what not an yes they sound good but nothing sounds as nice as a full 3" turbo back exhuast with a nice muffler on it. my cars a 92 SS MT.... call me a ricer or whatever you want but Id really like to start with an intake and an exhaust and just keep building from there, TMIC, etc

Thanks alot guys

go on ebay, buy an apex n1 muffler, and head to an exhaust shop tell them you want 3" turbo back and theyll hook you up for about 150$ you can use a WRX one but you have to make it longer, not sure on specifics, hope i helped. you also want to upgrade the downpipe, youll get quicker spoll, and itll breath much easier. i think all together, dp, piping, muffler and welds ect ect i spent about 500$

p.s. i have a 4" bellmouth downpipe and a 3" tbe cat-less to a megan rice can, sounds sick as hell, like louder then WRX's and STi's :-D

i like fart cans on soobs.... lol.... Im jsut new to the turbo scene an what not so I think it would be easyier for me to throw on a premade downpipe an what not. I mean would the guys at a small town exhaust shop know how to bend the piping at the back of the turbo to make it breath better

buy a wrx downpipe, aftermarket ones bolt right onto our stock turbo. Then have the exhasut shop do just the piping. you may need to have them weld in an 02 bung near the top of a wrx dp.

I like tasteful SS's. Fart cans are not tasteful.

last time i checked, apex n1 mufflers are close to 200$. AND IMO straight through(fart cans) have a deeper, and throatier tone, especially when they get like "broken" in

so by going with a WRX downpipe and a 3" exhaust how much is this going to cut power and will it cut it high end or low??

I wouldnt go as far to say "cut power", however you may lose a little in the low end, but you will have gains in the higher rpm range because the engine will breathe alot better. You should do something to the air filteraswell , a drop in K&N panel works good, and a snokusectomy!! (do a search)

I know a little off topic, it is the exhaust section :)
