IMO there is only one aftermarket bypass valve to get, and thats a FORGE.

I have never seen a nicer valve. Plus you don't have to switch out the spring to increase its vacuum theshold. You just screw in the knob on the top of the valve. I have only heard good things about them and have never seen one for sale.

- they have both a recirculation type and atmospheric type. I'd recommend the recirculation one because if you really want sound you can just pull off and plug the recirc hose.

The best (cheap) BOV/BPV on the planet is the oem Mitsubishi Eclipse (1gen). I picked on of these up @ my local j/y with all of the intercooler hose + the boost solenoid for $10. I then crushed it & am currently using it on the LSS (FMIC).
I made an adapter that allows the large outlet of this bov to recirculate @ the factory point.
If its good enough for an EVO, it should be good enough for a Legacy.

What about those 50/50 type valves? That seems like it would be the best to me.

I second the HKS SSQV.

GFB makes very reliable valves too.
