i realy wish i had my own stick welder so i could learn more than how to do beads with E6011 on 1/2" steel like we do in welding class at school
id realy like to learn how to weld aluminum, that would come in handy with working on cars
i dont think welding on a wood palate is a great idea though, maybe im wrong though, but my pants and boots (seprate ocasions) will tell you things can flame up alot faster than you think when they are next to 2500* (so will the trash can)

not a great idea no but you have to really try to set wood on fire when youre just welding. my workbench is wood and it does have some burn marks yes but for having some pretty large, very hot pieces on there its doing fine. I'm actually looking for a metal desk or something to use as a welding table though for ease in fitting up.Murphy wrote:
