RSB Problems

Post by keltik »

Ive fitted the actualy sway bar in and got all the mounts done up, now im trying to swap over the rear link arms and have run into an annoying problem. The inboard end of the link arm has one long cammed bolt going straight through it and holds both arms onto the frame. On the donor car each link arm has its own bolt.

What i want to do is press the bushing out of the old and new link arms and swap them over so that the cammed bolt will fit through the new link arm. Anyone see a problem with this?

I also found because its one big long bolt instead of 2 seperate ones im going to have to drop the rear sub-frame a couple inches to get the dam bolt out.

Donor car is a 1992 LS 4WD Wagon
My car is a 1989 Mi 2WD Sedan

I'd think the long cammed bolt will work with the awd links. Pressing bushings out tends to wreck them up a bit.

Although if you're willing to do it, you may as well press in group N bushings instead.

Or you can go with these:

For $170 it's a pretty decent price for what you get, although I'm not sure what it would take to get them to you.

You seem to have it figured out, but you may want to check out this thread: http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=26464
