My 91 SS was stolen this morning and recovered this afternoon. Looked like they tried to tow it with too small a rope, which broke. The cops found her in a ditch a few blocks from my house. It was high centered, the left wheels were barely touching the ground. I got it towed back and at least the body damage appears to be minor . Not sure about underneath yet.
This was in Bellingham. Maybe we should make a list of all the WA or NW thefts? Seems like there have been a lot lately.

+1.
Why in the world would some thief go to the trouble of stealing a 15yo car...jeez.

to part it out probaly, they must know that suby parts are interchangable, plus they might think older cars wont have as good security features like alarms/immobilizers
I figured they stole mine for the engine but that proved not to be the case, i guess they just wanted a ride to Everett. Glad you got your car back relatively as lucky as I did.
Thanks guys. I am very glad to have it back un-totaled.
The theft is kind of strange. There are more valuable cars in my neighborhood to steal. Were they after the engine? Subaru parts in general?
Maybe the theft of Matt's car was by that notorious Subaru thief they caught a few months ago. The guy who just stole cars for fun, and to get around.
The assholes who took my car went about it differently. They towed it, which is scary because alarms/immobilizers wouldn't stop them.
looks like ill have to keep one of my semi auto rifles loaded by my bed.
that sucks man. awsome you got it back in one peace.

its probably meth addicts, steal what ever they get, it does look like a nice car though, allot of people that didn't know better probably wouldn't think it was that old
i heard that in Oregon that 75% of robbery and theft were done by meth addicts and dealers so they can resale it
if you didn't find it in a ditch, you might have seen it out front of a house with a for sale sign
Perhaps it is YOU who stole it. Just had to feel it again, didn't ya? You'll hear about the white one being stolen alright. You'll be the one in it!
Driving Subarus is an addiction. Check yourself into a clinic you reprobate!
Sorry your shit got gaffled, but yeah, good thing it's in one piece. Put a removable steering wheel in it. That will discourage them a little more. Dead hooker in the trunk works well too.
Shit, Bellingham is probably the Subie capital of the US, I seem to remember a few "enthusiasts" right in your neighborhood. Do you think it was one of them, or do you have nemesie(sp?)?
Before I move let's get some "enthusiasts" together and Roll a Bitch!
