my 2.2 NA build

Post by cheno SLO »

so, i am rebuilding my old-new for me EJ22, i plan to completely rebuild bottom end(new bearings, new pistons, piston rings), i allready ported and port matched the heads, port matched the intake manifold.
I contacted delta cam to ask them what cam would they suggest, they said that the best street cam is the 272 degree cam - does anyone have this cam or anyother cam form delta cam for NA use ?
Does idle suffer? low end torque ?

Any suggestion for the pistons? bearings?
i plan to buy top-line pistons(oversize) and ACL bearings. The engine has a lot of miles on it and im pretty shure that the cilinders are out of round over the suggested limit(plan to get that checked to make shure) but since im getting new pistons i might aswell get oversize pistons and get the cilinders bored.

any help is aprechiated.

Let us know if the cylinders are out of round. I have yet to see an EJ without the cross hatching still in the cylinders (I haven't pulled one apart with less than 200k miles). I am interested in knowing a number for when cylinders begin to suffer (just to gage future block purchases).

Thanks!
