Im having really bad luck this week. The dent isnt too bad, but it still sucks. :(

Ok, for some reason I cant use webshots as a host, so I'll link to the pics....

Yah, not too bad, could have been a lot worse.

Whenever I see plows coming, I slow down and get wayyy over.

LoL, I wondered why there were no scratch marks, I thought you maybe turned into it or he slid over.

Still sucks, but at least it was only something minor like a fender.

well I just went sideways into an ice pile about 20 min ago, put some pretty big dents in my passenger doors and front fender. :(
and 2 weeks ago was rear ended by an old ass guy in an ea81 wagon which totalled the ea81 and sorta rippled my rear bumper skin. old guy claimed his foot slipped off the brake but he hit me going a good 20mph.

I just got rear ended in the legacy a few weeks ago. Didnt cause much damage so I let the guy slide....

Mistakes happen - but morons who cant operate two pedals (let alone 3) should not be allowed on the road. The idiot who rear ended me never even offered an explanation - I guess he felt he wouldnt need his brakes as my car would slow him down. I even asked him if any of my brake lights were out and he said "no".

How bad was your damage?

I love the snow, yet hate it very much at the same time....

I was at a stop light and was rera ended. rear bumper damage was minimal, just punched a couple small holes in the skin and rippled it a bit. pretty funny actually how little damage there was. it already looked like crap from when it got rear ended by my roommate in the driveway.
definitely taking the insurance money and walking(ej20g? ). there was a cop literally right behind the guy that hit me so I didnt really have the option to just let him go. but man, are ea81's tin cans!! if I had had my reciever hitch on the car things would have been worse for him than they were. core support and everything on it were history.
side damage, it just snowed 2" here and I was rollying, just misjudged the traction and understeered. first time something like that happens in probably 5 years of doing this shit in the same car on the same tires... kind of a bad feeling. :( it can be fixed with new doors and a front fender tho which I may or may not do since the car has cancer and got hit from the rear anyway.

ej20g would be awesome. My car wont be fixed - it really is a beater and im going to walk with whatever money I can get out of the town.

If I were you and my car had rust issues I would just drive it until it died.... Once rust starts in, the car kind of becomes a money pit.

only one I have a lead on right now is the ea81 hatch which happens to be my fav of all of em(rare car). problem is, its almost 5hrs up into the mountains, none of my friends will give me a ride up there, my reciever hitch is too small to tow a dolly, and the only tow rig I have access to is a 76 F250 with a 460/NP435 and 4.11 gears in the axle which would be a couple hundred bucks in gas. a friend is going up there in 2 weeks, but itll be gone by then.
project car awd imprezas that arent beat to shit are very desirable here, ea82 3dr's are uber rare(everywhere), and squarebacks are expensive and rare here.

Yeah - subies are apparently very popular in snow country. Its probably just as bad if not worse in upstate ny - everything is more expensive in ny...

I see legacys all the time with blown headgaskets on craigslist - perfect project cars. You could even get a wagon and go sleeper - kinda like the direction im going. :-D

Imprezas always have a higher price tag - they are kind of deemed the "coolest" of the subaru line. I personally love the last gen legacy wagons.

SLEEPERS ROCK!!! :-D

I dont care if the car is sleeper or not, I just want something light for a change. big 3300lb wagons are super functional and all, but I really miss having a nice light, short wheelbase, tossable car. and Ive been pretty psyched to build an ej hatch for several years now. of course, Ive got to get the damn thing first.

even beater legacies are pretty expensive in upstate arent they? and all the ea cars are just GONE? because they salt the shit out of the roads and all the soobs that see winter duty get ruined. there are legacies with good bodies and like a blown 4eat or a bad clutch around here for $400 all the time. CO doesnt salt as much as the east and its a lot drier most of the time. snow usually melts within a few days down in town but not this year.

BC is my fav legacy, then BD then BF. dont like any of the other ones.

Hehe - I very much understand light cars that can get thrown around - My other car is a miata, and I have 2 shifter karts :-D

Subaru anything is expensive anywhere in ny. But, if you search, you can find deals. Once in a while the head gasket deals show up because it costs more to fix the head gasket than the car is worth.

An ej monster should be pretty cool....

Ooo, The trailer hitch! I'm putting mine in today for just such a rear-ending possibility.

People drive like idiots out here, but I still don't want to get hit.

If I do, I'm going at least going to get a few things spruced up on the back of the car. Fix the hatch squeak and latch, and maybe some JDM Forester tails!

gto man your wagon looks sick (well before the crash). mine looks like yours except it's a 92 but I have the same wheels. Your ride is very clean looking and the paint is def in better condition than mine. You did that turbo your self on the originally N/A engine? That's sweet. I wouldn't mine doing that myself but it's probably not going to happen.

Thanks for the compliment!

It looks even worse now - I got hit AGAIN - the car was parked and the guy smashed my rear tail light and tore the rear panel... Its ok though - Im going to end up financing the motor build with the money from the 2 accidents and I'll bang out the welder and a hammer. Im a crappy metal worker, but Ill put in a good effort - we'll see how it turns out.

Any pics of your wagon?

Oh - the turbo was done by the previous owner. The motor burns oil and the turbo is only pushing like 4 psi.

Im doing a motor build right now so I can run like 3-4 times the boost. Its going to be ugly but fast when Im done with it... And, if its not ugly enough, Ill bang out the welder and hammer again. I WANT people to think this thing is a pos. That way they dont expect anything.... :-D

this was before I got the wheels obviously :P

Some day I would like to repaint it (same color). I have plans to replace the struts and put some whiteline ground control springs on it with rear sway bar as well. The pics aren't the greatest but the one from the back is my favorite. At this moment my car is really dirty, inside and out. I really need to clean it. Right now due to a couple of curb incidents, I have a wierd vibration/wobble coming from the front and I can't figure out what it is. Maybe it will go away after I get an alignment done.

I like the sleeper look too. Which is why I sort of want to keep my car and swap in a WRX motor + manuel transmission when my tranny gives up (right now there is a slight slip from 2nd to 3rd). You mean the engine bay is going to be ugly right because the outside looks pimp.

You cant see it, but my car has a ton of dents everywhere and the paint sucks. Our wagons look pretty good with the wrx rims.

You could probably do a turbo pretty cheap. I have an uppipe and downpipe I could give you cheap - youd still need a turbo exhaust manifold and turbo though. That and some piping and you should be good. Shouldnt cost more than $300-400 to get all the parts...

It doesnt cost much to run like 4psi. Anything more than that and you have to do something with em.

Yeah I guess I can't see the dents/dings your pics. Our cars clean right up with wrx wheels. also just look at the front before compared to the front after. I also plan to do a wire mesh grille mod in the future as well.

As regards to the turbo, maybe I will do that in the future. Not now but maybe during the summer. Is there a noticable increase in power the turbo. Do you have to run premium?

Premium is a must. I dont know what a regular 2.2 feels like, but I can tell you that when the turbo kicks in it DEFINATELY gives a nice little kick - even at low boost...

silver I don't know what you are talking about. I have the whinestone color and I haven't gotten hit yet. :x jkjk. but yeah I wish my car had a little more low end torque. My bro has a 93 SS (whinestone, the best color) and from riding in it/driving it I can tell that the turbo def helps with the low end a lot.
