'05 LGT Wagon input needed

Post by dwreck30 »

There are few cars on my "want" list and I think I found one I don't want to pass on. Stopped by one of the local stealerships today and found an '05 LGT 5spd Wagon w/ cloth interior. Its got 37,000 miles on it and I can get it for $19,500. The only downside for me is that it is black(OBP). I was just looking for some input from you guys because I think I will be buying it on Monday. Is it a good price? What should I look for? Thanks in advance!

That's a VERY good find. Less than 5% of LGT wagons sold in the US were 5spd, and that's one of them. The 06+ LGT wagons don't have 5spds at all.

Since it's an LGT wagon, it probably wasn't owned by a 16-year-old punk-ass kid from the "WRX/STi" crowd, and hasn't had the crap beat out of it, but check it over anyway.

I agree - nice car - but I hate, repeat hate, keeping up my black 99 Legacy GT. Subaru paint is crap and it show every door ding.

I'd ask around over here and research quirks of the MT - recalls etc. if you haven't already...

fwiw, any car that was painted black from the factory has the straightest body. they have inspectors that really know their shit and the cars they think are the least straight they paint white. the best are painted black. yeah, its hard to keep clean and is hot as hell in the summer but its worth it man. a black 05 must look positively evil.

I have to submit my vote as a - go for it. You won't find a deal like that very often and you'd loose sleep at nights if you let it slip.

As an unrelated aside - if you're willing to still lend a hand wrenching in trade for beer or such, I have some JDM LSD internals that I woudn't mind having a helping hand with. I'll shoot you a PM.

Buy it, you can't get the manual GT wagons any more.

Only year of 5MT turbo wagon in the US.

I drove two of them at LVMS when SOA invited me out there. Fun car to drive fast.

Well other than being in a good amount of debt for the first time, I like the car a lot :D The windows will be getting tinted soon and I will have to invest in some summer wheels/tires. Here are some crappy phone pics.
