2.2 NA pipe size

Post by caveman »

well since i work at a muffler shop i can make my exheaust. what i'm thinkin is cuting the factory exhaust at the flanges and go custon duals. what size will be sufficient on a 2.2 NA. i was thinkin 1 3/4" or 2" if i did real duals or maybe dual 2" into a cat and 2 1/4" single the rest of the way.

i had 2.25 on my 91 all the way from the y pipe w/the cat in it.

we put two resonators in it and it sounded great.

gave a slight butt dyno increase in throttle response.

I don't think it is worth it to have a dual exhaust on a 4-cyl engine. Single 2.25" works great for me with equal length headers, no low end loss and definately more power above 3500rpm.

I wouldn't do that...I think you would lose a ton of low end power...
