ive got an LSD out of an 03 outback. and the axles
My car is a 3.90 and the diff is a 4.11
So i pulled the diff apart and it looks really easy, 8 -17mm bolts hold the ring on and one 32mm nut holds the pinion in.
Now before i go tearing my 94 rear diff apart, i know mine has the stub axles , but my questions is, will the ring gear from my 94 bolt onto the 03? If not i can juist get a 3.90 ring outof something else, but it would be easier to just use my original.
Has anyone messed around with these before, they look realy simple, only took me 5 minutes to tear the hole thing apart with hand tools.
Got an LSD, now what?

Horsepower is horsepower, the label on the box doesnt matter.

i couldnt find a 3.90 lsd.
I work at the biggest junkyard in the country so i have a huge selection to choose from, but we dont buy anything older than 96 so my selection is limited to the newer models. and $75 for an LSD is a good deal.
anymore dumb questions?

If it's an R160 I can't see why you couldn't just change it out. As with everything, putting it back together isn't as easy as taking it apart. You'll have to adjust back lash and junk, but for that price, you could pay someone to do it and still be ahead.
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.
