coolant fans stopped working

Post by 253.Asmo »

Cleaned out my engine bay, sprayed her off real good with water afterwards, let it dry out and now my coolant fans won't seem to turn on at all. Car doesn't overheat or anything just wondering if there is anything I should check first that I'm not thinking of.

Any suggestions?

I had to replace the motors because they wore out. I would pull them both and check the electrical connections.

I'm not thinking it's the motors, can't remember if it was doing this the other day, but the passenger side fan comes on with the AC and defrost. Couldn't trace the wires back far enough to know if there's a relay or something that could be out?

yes, you have a primary fan and a secondary.

Primary is on at specific temps and off at a specific temp.

The secondary is on only with the AC compressor. ( unless the first fan is out)

There will be a relay for each one.
