Power Steering

Post by looter »

I have a 90' Subaru Legacy in which I have replaced teh power steering pump twice now only to find that the leak has been in the line at the very bottom of the car. Anyone know what I'm talkign about? It looks like a box and I have no idea what it is called I was hoping somone here should shine some light on the subject so I can A.) Take the nessacary steps to fixing the power steering problem and B.) know what the heck I'm talking about to my mechanic/parts dealer.

Thanks guys

If the leak is down at the bottom, then the leak is probably in the steering rack.

You should either replace or repair the steering rack. It'd probably cost you the least to just buy a slightly used rack, and put it in.
