Which is better?

Post by Tleg93 »

I'm looking at two legacy sport sedans at the moment. I know of four available for sale but only two really interest me.

The first is totally built-up '94 SS with around 130k on it. It requires no modding really, comes with rex wheels, and has little rust issues apparently. My only issue with it is that I'm not too sure how long the tranny will hold up with the kind of power that's been pushed through it and that there's some issues with tuning that might arise. I'm not sure I could work on the car and I don't want one that will require extensive downtime for repair.

The second SS is in WV and it's a '91 with 74k miles on it, new tranny, totally stock. It's a drive to get it but I might do it since it's so low on mileage and has no rust issues. It's silver too.

I just can't make up my mind. I was bidding on the black SS on ebay but I don't want to pay over around 3k for a salvage title car that has no mods except an intercooler and no boost controller. What would you do?

Depends on what you want to do and what the cost difference is. If you want to mod how you want, get the stock one......

If you want a fast one and not have to put a lot of time & money into it....get the modded one.

I definitely like the idea of having an already modded suby. I'm just concerned that I'll buy it and it will take a crap on me shortly thereafter.

Where in WV is it? If it's near me, I'd make a drive for a fellow subaru guy. Might help out your decision.

I'd say go with the un modded one. It's easier to mod an unthrashed car than it is to unmod/fix a thrashed on car. Plus, modding is half the fun of it anyway.

honestly the unmodded one sounds a bit nicer but to get let down after driving to VA would suck balls.
