Chasis Code List?

Post by turboleg »

Is there a chasis code list somewhere I can get? I have found bits a pieces of the making of one on a few websites. I think if someone can come up with a good (complete) list of all the chasis codes from at least 1990 on up it would be helpful (I think it might be sticky worthy).

yeah one big list would be nice to have. I'm not finding one stickied on nasioc either.

Between these two threads it's mostly covered

Then with imprezas you have GC/GF/GM for first gen sedan/wagon/coupe, GD/GG for 2nd gen sedan and wagon, and I guess GE/G...N? for the 08.

the third character stands for the motor usually, and varies by year. So like a BC6 in 93 was a 2.2, but a BD6 in 99 or whatever is a 2.5. I think.

I've got the USDM EJ cars down.

Legacy:
BC - 1st-gen 90-94 sedan
BJ - 1st-gen 90-94 wagon
BF - 1st-gen 94 GT wagon
BD - 2nd-gen 95-99 sedan
BK - 2nd-gen 95-99 wagon
BG - 2nd-gen 96-99 Outback wagon
BE - 3rd-gen 00-04 sedan
BH - 3rd-gen 00-04 wagon
BL - 4th-gen 05+ sedan
BP - 4th-gen 05+ wagon

Impreza:
GC - 1st-gen 93-01 sedan
GF - 1st-gen 93-01 wagon
GM - 1st-gen 93-01 coupe
GD - 2nd-gen 02-07 sedan
GG - 2nd-gen 02-07 wagon
?? - 08+ (don't know yet)

Forester:
SF - 1st-gen 98-02 wagon
SG - 2nd-gen 03+ wagon

Tribeca:
WX - 1st-gen 06+ SUV

Baja:
BT - 1st-gen 03-06 truck

As far as 6th digits go, I'm a little rusty on those. I know a GC6 or a GM6 is a 2.5RS as opposed to something else. I know a GD2 or GG2 is a WRX while a GD7 is an STi. But that's all I can name off the top of my head.

EA cars I don't have down perfectly either. I know Brats started off as ATs, but then at some point became AUs, and I don't know when. AFs are GenII hatches, AMs are GenII wagons. ACs are GenIII sedans, ANs are GenIII wagons. I believe GenIII 3-doors are AGs.

Edit: Saw a goof. I called 95 Outbacks BGs, but they were actually BKs. I sowwy.
