Block sealing Qs

Post by Splinter »

The time has come to put this baby together, but Ive got a question about the seals

I bought a full seal kit, and there are two more seals like those black ones, but no more spaces for them

1. Are all the seals in that need to be in before I put in fujibond and put the halves together?
2. Are the seals that I have in there now correct?
3. What are the other seals for that look the same as the ones that are in there for if the answer to the last two questions is yes?

It looks like you bought a subaru seal kit - but if you didnt, do yourself a favor and buy an oem rear main seal - I compared the two when I put my block together and the oem one was significantly stronger than the non-oem.

Depending on what kit you got, the other two o-rings similar to the black ones go between oil pump & block, and oil pan & block.

If you ordered a new oil pan, it comes with an o-ring already installed.
