These two need a little more work :/

While I have physical possesion of both, I will never sign the civic into my name in principle. I swore I will never own a honda in my life.

It'll probably get towed to the junkyard next week some time

MG Midget!! Wow. My First and Fourth cars were Midgets.

First one I "lost" to a very failed "restoration" that was basically me dissasembling it while I was too young and out of work. It never got reassembled. The second I traded to my younger brother because he really needed a car and I needed a place to crash for a while. He still has it and one day I might just "take" it back.

Steel or rubber bumper? I still love those old BMC "A" series motors.

What are your plans for it?

Yeah, the Honda needs to dissapear.

I think its got the steel bumper, Ill go look tomorrow in the light.

I dont have the keys for it, so depending on whether or not I can find a new ignition for it, and the condition of the engine in it, I'll either rebuild it to factory spec, or drop in a SBC, probably a 305 :P

Why not an RX7 or S2000 driveline and powerplant?

I can only imagine how fun a Midget would be with a rotary.

Small block chevys are easy
No wiring, cheap parts, lots of torque

Doesnt matter tho because if it does happen, it wont be for at least a year :P

305's are absolute GARBAGE...

I can't believe anyone would swap in such a pos...

+1 to all of the guys that suggested Honda, RX7, AE86, etc. drivetrains...Keep the light car light...

And if you didn't wanna deal with wiring, a dual side-updrafted 4AG would positively make that car fly...

I intend to build a Sunbeam Alpine/Tiger with S2000 running gear sometime soon... :P

i looked for mg midget v8 conversions online, nothing came up, but i did see a few about a 13B rotary swap and a 2.8L chevy

i think its probably too small for a v8, but a 13B would be pretty cool

i would do a ford 2.3t and T5 into that MG... but it would probably twist the car into funny shapes.
I'd run a 305 in a junkyard turbo setup, the max they go for is about $100 for a good runner it seems like.

A guy I used to know had a Midget in great running shape (except the winshield wipers didn't work when it was raining).

His uncle was very much into them and had strapped some Aluminum Buick V8 under the hood. Net weight gain was 50lbs.

All second hand information, so I don't know (or care) if the guy is full of shit.

I'd still put a bunch of S2000 stuff into it. It'd absolutely SCREAM!

That Buick V8 is the 215 cube motor...all aluminum...

It was adapted by Rover, and therefore powers all of the Land Rover Discoveries...and those ones are particularly badass, because they are fuel injected, and have a velocity stack for every cylinder within a common plenum.

Lots of Datsun guys use them in 510's, and they actually weigh less than the stock L series 4 cylinder.

Haha...well thanks Phil...

The 215 in the Midget would be an incredibly awesome setup...And I think they are pretty easy to come by in Land Rover form, but not so easy to find in carb'd Buick form...

But my vote still goes out to S2000 bits...I mean shit, 240hp in a car like that would be just this side of terrifying...

Which is the precise reason I intend to put one in a Sunbeam Alpine sometime :D

That Buick 215 was used in the Triumph TR8 wasn't it?

The L-series motor and the KA must be ridiculously heavy, because this isn't the first time I've heard of swapping GM small blocks into Nissan/Datsun cars and the net weight actually DECREASING.

I know the KA is iron and I'd assume the L-series is too, but shit, HEAVIER than a small block? It has half the cylinders!!!
