I seem to remember reading a thread about the wiring diagrams being wrong for some models/years. I couldn't come up with anything in a search however.
In the diagram I am using it shows the ID pin grounded for a manual trans. My auto SS already has this pin grounded. I'm assuming that everything should be good to go when I install my 5-speed as long as I change it opposite of what it was. (cut the wire)
The guides here on LC all refer to cutting the wire and my harness seems to support this. The diagram would seem to be wrong in this case.
Anybody else run across this?

Interesting....
My '91 FSM states that the the pin should see 5 volts for both MT and AT for turbo, but be grounded for n/a AT and 5 volts for n/a MT.
I'm gonna have to check to see if mine is grounded or not.......

Yeah.
For testing purposes, I will remove the pin from the ECU connector. That way I can just put it back if I need to.

Yeah...the manual is a little screwy.
When the manual states it should have +5v, that means there should be no wire there, or if you have a wire, cut it. Ov means that pin is grounded.
The turbo ECU's from what I have found follow the FSM. The 90 & 91 ECU's I believe follow the FSM as well. The 92 ECU I ran for a while was backwards.
For example. My car came with a 1990 AT ECU. The ID pin was grounded from the factory.
When I did my AWD swap, I kept my 1990 AT ECU, and cut the ID pin wire.
When I put in the 1992 ECU (which is the same for AT & MT) I had to reconnect the wire for the ECU to be identified as a MT ECU.
When I installed the turbo legacy ECU, I'm pretty sure I disconnected the wire again.
