Trans swap turning an AT into an MT

Post by Hocrest »

The time has come to get rid on the AT in my 97 Legacy. I've been wanting to convert it to a 5 spd for a while, and now I have an excuse.

Has anyone done this swap? I've done AT-AT swaps and an AT-MT swap in an SVX, is there anything special I should look out for or pull from the donor.

I did it on my TW, and it's been done before and since many, many times. It's basically identical to what you did in your SVX, but in the Legacy.

just needed some quick verification. I'm in the process of my swap right now. Found out the driveshaft doesn't mate up from the manual drivetrain i got from a 01 RS.

So just to clarify, i'll need to find a 90-92 legacy driveshaft for my 92 SS?

N/A or Turbo version will do? Any other car I can get it from?
