Grr...if had to sell it...

Post by boro »

I may be moving to Chicago in a few months here and in doing so I will be forced to sell the Subaru as it has now become a project instead of a daily driver. So in the spirit of planning ahead, I will test the waters.

91 Legacy Sport

-215,xxx miles
-pearlwhite with some hail damage, clean grey interior
-A/C and heat are perfect. (super cold R12 A/C)
-WRX suspension and clutch
-STI shifter and bushing
-Saab intercooler
-TurboXs RFL bov with aluminum pipe and flange
-vf11 with no shaft play
-polished aluminum catch
-Autometer boost gauge
-power everything

Heres the bad parts. It has a blown headgasket on the passenger side cylander head, bad TPS and the wrong MAF and it needs a canistger purge solenoid.
The drivers side wheel bearing in shot and needs to be replaced. I still...erm...did drive on it for a year, so a new hub is your best bet.

Do you have any kind of ballpark price? I'm new to these cars and I'm not sure what to expect.

Well I know what I would like to get out of it, but I myself don't know if it is a fesible price tag, because I have seen these go for really expensive or really cheap.

I'd like $2000, but that doesn't mean I am going to get it.

Hey all,
I didn't go to Chicago. I still have it. Turns out it wasn't a head gaskt, just a few minor problems that over developed, and if it is a had gasket...well I am still driving on it daily

Since this post I have installed new intake gaskets, temp sensor, catch can, re-routed some PCV lines with new hoses, installed an HKS 3" downpipe, a new rear hub and bearing, Whiteline RCA Kit with extended ball joints and tierods, Whiteline sport steering rack bushings, just changed the oil AMSOIL Euro 5w40 Synth, Redline Synth 90w in the front diff, still needs an alignment (I did the suspension stuff a metter of days ago)

The motor is old though. Real old. It isn't liking winter and may not make it through. I'm at 223,xxx miles now. Since the front end work has been done it really shows its age in the other areas. Ahh the beauty of urethane bushings. It seems to be the problem tell-all. I am wondering what an alignmt will do to solve a lot of the quirks. I'll try for that this week.

I am always willing to consider an offer, or trade for another SS. Who knows... don't bank on me accepting though. As they say it's cheaper to stay with the car you have most of the time. PLus with the money and wrench time I have in her, I just may kep it and see what I can do with it. It pisses me off as it sits, but I feel the potential in it.

Well that's the skinney on the car.
