Running an ej22t with a non-scoop hood?

Post by cyberbackpacker »

What are your thoughts on running the ej22t without a hood scoop? I was thinking of trying to reroute the chimney so it vents outside of the engine compartment, but do not know how feasible/reasonable that is.

Thoughts, opinions? Cannot afford to go to a fmic at this point in time.

I wouldn't worry about it, providing you aren't running a TMIC

Keep the heatshield on there and I think all should be ok.

I've got about 10k like that. A few wires are brittle, but prolly from age and not from lack of a hood.
