sylenoid valve question

Post by Coy »

the sylenoid purge valve that is located under the intake manifold on the passenger side, has lines that run from the EGR canister and one runnin to the throttle body and another that i havent traced to its source is throwin a code. its been a while since i pulled the code i think it was either 25 or 35. when i start the car after its sat fora while it cranks over real strong like normal but when i turn it off and it sits for a short time it kinda starts weak and sputters a bit till i give it some gas. when it starts weak the check engine light comes on.

i located the part at the dealer but its a hundred bucks or so, i also found a 96 legacy (mines a 92) with the same engine code at a salvage yard. since the car in the salvage is newer would this sylenoid purge valve from the newer one work on mine. im sure i can get the one from the salvage ALOT cheaper.

Yeah, the purge solenoid from the newer car should probably work.
